At the camp I go to, we have a Native American neighbor who makes his own flutes and plays them and he comes and gives us a demonstration of his flutes and some other instruments. He plays the didgeridoo as well. After the little show, he lets the campers and counselors play around with the instruments and I picked up a didgeridoo, asked how to do it, and did it. I bought my own at the Renaissance Festival recently. (We also have one of the flutes he made that he donated as a raffle item to raise funds for the camp. We won the raffle.  ) |

It's not always easy. I tried a few that i just couldn't play, but I found one I could and I love it. It's hard though, because I've yet to master circular breathing.

Is anyone doing Day of Silence today? I think it's sort of a good idea, but it could be better. A lot of LGBT+ people are already silenced.

I mean, tbh, I don't really like the Day of Silence. It seemed like a great idea to me in high school and I participated every year, but now it seems like minimal effort and at this point we could be doing much more. I'm also not really going out in public or to class or anything today soooo

I participated in Day of Silence the last two years. Here in Belgium it's not a common thing so it was good to draw some attention to silenced LGBTQIA+ youth at school. Almost nobody had ever heard of DoS, so it was a good opportunity to tell people about it. Teachers loved it, some of them even participated once they knew what it was. Today I don't have school and at home I can't participate since my parents are extremely homophobic, so I'm not doing it this year.

Well I may not be in college anymore (I'm 25) but I graduated with a BA in Economics. I realize how miserable that must sound but I had great professors so it was actually a fun major.

It's a whole other system here but right now I study Latin and Ancient Greek + modern languages and next year I'm going to study for preschool teacher.
