This is kind of embarrassing for me to admit, but I have no idea how to do this particular social thing.
So I'm getting the vibe that this friend is hinting to me/others that they're transgender. How do I let them know that I'm supportive of them without scaring them or pressuring?
(Great first post, me. Also, is this the right place, or should I put this in the trans board?)

No, this is the right place!
Are you able to talk to them about it? Just kind of sit them down and let them know you're supportive of them?

I feel like that would be kind of a weird thing to do given our friendship - they're a pretty reserved person which is why I don't want to scare them

Maybe you could bring up something about trans rights? Like, start a conversation about, I don't know, why Leelah's Law is necessary, or representation of trans people in media?

Especially with the whole thing that's happening in the White House!

Yeah I guess that would be a good idea, thank you. Anything else/things I should avoid?

Update to the situation. I was right in my intuition. So yeah I talked to her and stuff tonight so yeah she knows I can be an ally if she needs one at some point.
