It's written in a completely different way. There's not really a plot to it. But it's great to peek into Auri's world. It's really incredible. I have a friend who loved it like I did, and one who enjoyed it, but not as much as the main story. You should try to read it if you can, simply because the world from Auri's pov is so enchanting.

I really do need to read it and I fully intend to, Auri is one of my favourite characters. I love how whimsical she is, and the first few pages that I read seemed to emphasise the ethereal sense of her. Have you read The Lies Of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch? That's another series of books that I absolutely love

A series that's similar to the Kingkiller Chronicles is the Stormlight Chronicles, if you haven't read those. The books are ridiculously long, but really good.

Oh my goodness Terry Pratchett yesss
um, I also really love the great YA authors of recent times like JK Rowling, Suzanne Collins--actually, I read her series Gregor the Overlander before I'd even heard of the Hunger Games and they got me hooked on her stuff cx
Erk I don't know too many non-famous authors though.

Someone else who has read Gregor the overlander! I got hooked on her stuff because of that too. I also really like Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson series. I like jk Rowling, and I recently got really into Guy Gavrial Kay. I still have a soft spot for Road Dahl from my childhood

omg that's awesome! cx whenever I ask people if they've read it they're like
'wait she wrote other stuff'
I read Riordan's first series but I didn't really like the second one. I like...um, Garth Nix, he wrote this series called Keys to the Kingdom I think?
I also love Eva Ibbotson's books.

Kurt Vonnegut is the writer to end all for me, but that's simply prose. If we throw poets into the mix it would be Allen Ginsberg or Walt Whitman. Dennis Johnson, however, is another amazing prose author.

Mine would be Christopher Paolini for a wonderfully composed and created fictional world, I guess. As for poetry, Maya Angelou.
