I haven't, but it's actually playing in my towns theater so I'll have to try and see it!

I haven't yet, but I've heard nothing but good things about it. Did it live up to the hype?

It definitely did. It was so beautifully done and the diversity was fantastic. I loved that the aliens were not humanoid (because the boov are not the only aliens). Also it's a subtle, but great, commentary on colonialism.

It's a Dreamworks animated movie about a young girl who loses her mom during an alien invasion. While on the search for her mom, she befriends one of the aliens who doesn't fit the norm of his race.
The girl, Tip, and her mom are from Barbados. They're black, and Tip's natural hair is beautifully done.
