Hey guys, thanks if you read this I'm new so this is nerve wracking!
So listen, ever since I was a little kid I always wanted to be a boy despite being labelled female. I told my mum but she always said I was a girl, it was weird, and told me to stop acting like a boy all the time.
Well now I still want to be a guy, but due to what's been said to me I get incredibly freaked out thinking about it. I don't like being female much, right now I'm identifying as demi since cis is uncomfortable but I'm too scared about the reaction that would follow being trans. I just don't really know what to think, any help figuring things out would be great. Thanks if you read all that by the way, this is scary for me.

thank you for putting yourself out there! i think labels can be important to make oneself feel included, but if you don't settle for one that's fine too. in my opinion, your anxiety about identifying as trans might not be all your own thoughts, as they've been influenced by your mom. i can't tell you how to identify because that's your journey, and whatever you choose or don't choose you will still be you.
